I’m bored so I’m decided I’m just gonna make a list of my top 10 favorite songs for this week.
- “Cameo Lover” by Kimbra
- “Give Your Heart a Break” by Demi Lovato
- “Mirrors” by Natalia Kills
- “Diggin’ on You” by TLC
- “Call Me” by Kimbra
- “The One That Got Away (Acoustic)” by Katy Perry
- “Good Intent” by Kimbra
- “Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin’ (Glee Cast Version)” by Darren Criss
- “Domino” by Jessie J
- “My Love is Like a Star” by Demi Lovato
I feel like Kimbra has been dominating my iPod recently but she’s such an immensely talented artist that I don’t mind at all. I also really enjoyed “Limbo” and “Withdraw.”
As for Natalia Kills, she’s another artist I found recently and her albums pretty fantastic. I left out “Wonderland” and “Kill My Boyfriend” but goodness, I still love those songs.
I started listening to CrazySexyCool by TLC recently (late I know) and it’s pretty much R&B perfection. “Waterfalls” is one of my favorite songs ever, but “Diggin’ on You” has become an obsession.
So glad Katy finally released an acoustic version of “The One That Got Away” because honestly that was how the song was meant to be heard. Yeah she might be trying to get another #1 hit so she can break another record but if it means releasing this I don’t care at all.
“Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin’” is one of my favorite Michael Jackson songs and I was a bit apprehensive about listening to their cover. It’s pretty delightful and enjoyable but “Smooth Criminal” is pretty intense too.
I love Jessie J’s voice. And I root for her because I remember hearing that acoustic version of “Who You Are” on YouTube and thinking, “This girl will go far.” I’m kind of disappointed with her first album and her singles have been pretty awful. While I think that “Domino” is pretty reminiscent of Katy Perry, it’s still pop nirvana and I just can’t help but obsess over it.
I was with Demi since the beginning. I listened to Don’t Forget and Here We Go Again and was sincerely excited about her next endeavor. I mean how could you not like songs like “La La Land” and ‘Every Time You Lie?” But, “Skyscraper” kind of put me off since it seemed to be a way to bank on her rehab stint. Unbroken is not nearly as enjoyable as her other two albums, but my goodness “Give Your Heart a Break” is gorgeous and “My Love is Like a Star” has the tiny boost of R&B I always love to hear in songs.
